* While profiling running simulations on stampede, found major bug in Ned's latest ETAS code that was causing simulations to hang. Basically a simulation could get stuck in an infinite loop if a rupture below a certain depth was triggered, which is rare but possible when running many simulations.
* descriptions of MCEr calculations for Rob
** implemented temporary non-ideal fix for current runs
* provided MCEr results for CB
** Ned working on long term fix
* helped Glenn Biasi with MeanUCERF3 ERF in OpenSHA apps
* plots for latest runs
* worked through EQ depth issue with Ned in ETAS simulations
* edits to XSEDE proposal
* launched new set of simulations on Stampede, final set for Powell Center meeting

* help Ned with fix for EQ depth/infinite loop issue
* post process/generate plots for final powell center meeting ETAS runs.
* post process/generate plots for 100yr runs which finished, send off to Morgan/Nicholas
* submit a few more requested runs for Ned, post process when done (likely Saturday evening)
* merge in latest ETAS code from Ned for hopefully final batch of runs prior to Powell Center meeting
* write scripts to better track progress of ETAS runs, detect issues
* post process results for scenario ETAS runs yesterday, send to Ned
* FYI, at USGS Powell Center meeting in Fort Collins next week

Lower priority or longer term tasks

  • Fill in missing site/rupture distances in CyberShake DB for ERF 36 (200m)
  • finish mapping of historical earthquakes to UCERF3 ruptures in order to run ETAS simulations of aftershock sequences
