ASD Viz
From SCECpedia
Jump to navigationJump to searchSCEC has been awarded an Accelerated Scientific Discovery (ASD) allocation from the NCAR Computatioinal and Information Systems Laboratory (CISL) for research on NCAR Wyoming Supercomputer Center (NCSW). We held a telecon on 4 May with CISL vis to discuss visualization targets for October time frame using CISL resources.

Questions from NCAR ICLS
- The "Data Analysis and Visualization" section of your allocation proposal indicated that you have some well-defined resources and tools for developing visualizations. What level of involvement for creating visualizations would you like or do you need from NCAR? i.e. How do you want us to be involved with this process (e.g. hand us the data and then we leave you alone, work with us to produce the material, or do it on your own and just send us raw footage)?
- If you want us to produce visualization products, can you provide suggestions on what would be of interest to visualize, and reasonable to do given the time frame, for NWSC grand opening?
- Do you have representative visualizations already that you could share? What tools were used?
- Can we have early access to sample/representative data sets?
- Description of model outputs: variables, file format, grid type and resolution, size.
- What, if any, post-processing will be required for viz?
- Who on your team should we work with directly?
- When do you anticipate we'll be able to get access to your data?
