Publishing UCERF3-ETAS Event Reports
This document is currently under construction.
This document will briefly outline what SCEC Event Pages are, how they allow us to share our findings, and how to update them with relevant forecasts. Any additional information relevant to the creation of the page itself should be included here.
After successfully running a UCERF3-ETAS simulation and generating our plots, the generated UCERF3-ETAS forecast results can be published as part of a larger SCEC Event page. This page outlines the process by which results are published.
Refer to UCERF3-ETAS Measurements for detailed instructions on how to run simulations and generate plots across HPC systems. The following examples allow us to take our generated results directly from the HPC system on which the computation occurs, although results can be published from any system with an internet connection.
To Do
- Explain what a SCEC Event page is and provide relevant links and screenshots of an event without a UCERF3-ETAS forecast.
- Show screenshots of SCEC events page and how
- to create an entry from USGS ComCat ID if not present
- to regenerate an existing entry to read from kmilner/event-reports
- Discuss how UCERF3-ETAS results are retrieved from kmilner/event-reports
- Explain the u3etas_jar_wrapper.sh script and ucerf3-launcher
- Discuss parameters and rationale behind duplicate folders
- This is a good opportunity to discuss automation of this process and the challenges faced.
- Provide command-line demonstrations and prerequisite bash config
- and then show the final UCERF3-ETAS forecast successfully in the SCEC Event page
