An critical basis for the SCEC CME research program is the definition of seismic hazard computational pathways. Higher number pathways are more physically realistic but more complex and computationally expensive.

The SCEC pathway diagram is shown in Figure 1.

Fig 1: SCEC computational pathways are progressive more complete, complex, and computationally expensive seismic hazard calculations. Each pathway contributes to improved ground motion forecasts.
