The following are the parameters that the current CyberShake workflow uses. We'd like to use similar parameters for an AWP-ODC CyberShake workflow and would expect to get similar results.

Site USC

Grid box

  • 420 km x 620 km x 40 km deep
  • 200 m spacing
  • Box rotated -55 degrees
  • Corner coordinates:
 x=0, y=0: (34.5491, -122.11248)
 x=420, y=0: (37.696, -119.54488)
 x=420, y=620: (34.444, -113.95284)
 x=0, y=620: (31.41553, -116.62562)

Velocity mesh

  • CVM-4
  • VpMax = 16.7 km/s
  • VsMax = 13.9
  • RhoMax = 12.9
  • VpMin = 1.7
  • VsMin = 0.5
  • RhoMin = 1.7

Velocity files were checked for poisson ratio (ask Rob for more details).

SGT calculation

  • nt = 8000
  • dt = 0.01
  • qsfrac=50
  • qpfrac=100
  • qpqsfactor = 2.0
  • fmax = 25.0, fmin = 0.01
  • flo = 0.5, fhi = 0.0

There are other parameters, but I'm not sure which are related to Rob's code in particular and which are more general.

SRFs for forward and inverse comparison

  1. Puente Hills (Santa Fe Springs)
    • Magnitude 6.15
    • Source 245, Rupture 2, Rupture Variation 0

    • Source 89, Rupture 5, Rupture Variation 0
    • SRF file available here
  3. 1994 Northridge
    • Magnitude 6.7
    • Not in UCERF2
    • SRF file available here
