Open Storage Network
From SCECpedia
Jump to navigationJump to searchSCEC participated in a recent Open Storage Network Meeting at TACC in Austin.
The design goals for the system include:
- Cost-Optimized: Researchers run on a pretty lean budget. The OSN is purpose-built, so no out-of-scope costs.
- Scalable: One size doesn't fit all. Whether you need a half petabyte or eight, the OSN can handle it.
- Protected: All data is stored in at least two different sites, ensuring the data is accessible.
- Low Maintenance: All systems report to the OSN Command Center (OCC). On-site personnel are only needed for hardware replacement.
- User Friendly: Get data in and out of the OSN easily with a familiar tool: Globus
