SCEC Web Development Home Page
Introduction
This is the SCEC web development home page. This wiki page simply links to extraneous information about SCEC's web development activities.
SCEC is in the process of redesigning and updating our main web site (scec.org). We are currently developing using a Drupal-based solution as it allows for modular development and easy upgradability.
This page is organized into three sections: one for users requested improvements, one for developers, and one for staff who are presently working on this project and one for all people who are interested in SCEC activities.
SCEC Web Priorities
- List all SCEC-funded awards by year, starting with current year, per agency request. Currently, this system relies on legacy database system.
- Remove scec.org dependencies on legacy systems (cwis, sceccore2.usc.edu, sceczero.usc.edu). The following pages were "skinned" to look like the new website:
- Meeting travel request form
- Funded projects database form and outputs
- Annual meeting abstracts search form and outputs
- Annual meeting participants lists (need to transfer FM data)
- Calendar of events
- Announcements list
- Intern program applications
- Migrate data from sceczero.usc.edu
- Community Stress Model project
- Proposal budget, review, and notification data for 2012-2014 projects.
- Enable SCEC meeting registration and management system. Ideally a generic event registration system that allows
- User to register for a meeting
- User to submit abstract for talk or poster
- User to pay for meeting registration fee
- Invited participant to make travel booking request
- Organizers to generate lists of meeting participants
- Upgrade or integrate the response.scec.org website (currently running Drupal 6). On May 11, 2016 the USGS/CGS is conducting an earthquake response exercise, during which they will use the SCEC response site.
- Enable group email list management that allows
- For users to self subscribe/unsubscribe to lists and
- For managers to create lists, manage subscribers, and moderate messages.
- Allow for researchers to submit and view project reports for SCEC-funded awards.
- Improve file management system to allow for upload of new version of file.
- Improve text editor, theme/style outputs, and print to PDF to encourage distributed content contributions from wider SCEC community.
- Mobile responsive

Our current SCEC site is located at www.scec.org. We encourage you to continue to interact with SCEC via this site while we are working on developing the new site with enhanced features and functionality.
